Basic Coastal Cruising (A.S.A. BCC-103)
Learn to skipper a 20' - 27' sloop-rigged keelboat by day, in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. Learn basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards.
This class extends on the knowledge learned in BKB-101 by taking a more in-depth look at topics which you are likely to encounter when you move up to larger boats in varying conditions and locations. New material will better prepare sailors to take longer voyages in more challanging weather conditions. The student will learn to read navigational charts, interpret weather / tidal information, anchor, moor and dock with confidence. Class size is limited to 4 students on the water.
Course Cost: $445 per person or 2 or more for $420 per person.
Maximum Capacity: 4 Students
Cost includes: course materials, exam, certification.
Prerequisite: BKB-101
Our ability to be flexible to your schedule is what sets Odyssey Sailing apart from the rest.
