The novice will gain the knowledge and skills to sail a boat of about 20 feet in moderate winds / sea conditions in familiar waters. 12 Hrs. classroom instruction covers Navigational "rules of the road', boat handling, boating safety, and sailing theory. 6 Hrs. of on the water instruction applies sailing principles, sailing maneuvers, sail trim, crew overboard recovery, and anchoring. Earn a National Safe Boating Certificate approved by the NASBLA & U.S. Coast Guard as well as a certification recognized by A.S.A. facilities nationwide. Certification requires passing both a written exam and a skills demonstration. Maximum of 5 students on the water instruction ensures each student will have the time needed to master all the skills required. This is an excellent beginner's course.
Course Cost: $445 per person or 2 or more for $420 per person.
Cost includes; coarse materials, exam, certification and 1 year A.S.A. membership.
